Acting as a resource to both the police and public our mission is to create meaningful partnerships through trust, understanding, shared knowledge, effective community engagement and to maintain safety and security in our communities.

We identify, prioritize and problem solve local policing issues and are proactive in community relations, crime prevention and communication initiatives.

Who We Are

The 22 Division Community Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) is made up of community volunteers and police service representatives from neighbourhoods across Central and South Etobicoke.

An inclusive committee, it reflects the demographics of the various local communities found within 22 Division.

The membership of the CPLC reflects this unique and diverse population.

Members in the committee include community representatives from different racial, cultural and linguistic groups, genders, age and socio-economic groups.

What We Do

  • Identify and increase public awareness of crime issues for example, by: writing articles on the 22 Division website and providing information to local newsletters and media.

  • Organize community information meetings, such as Town Hall meetings; make presentations to local community groups, associations and schools and host events such as community barbecues.

  • Share information and establish linkages with other organizations concerned with community and public safety;

    Increase dialogue between the community and police to address issues relating to crime, disorder, and violence.

  • Take part in various community events to educate community members on safety and security issues;

    Arrange community information Town Halls.

Our Annual Events & Causes

  • Our CPLC annually offers eligible graduating high school students who live within 22 Division catchment the opportunity to apply for a financial Student Leadership Award to support their first-year studies at a certified Ontario college or university of their choice.

  • The CPLC annually hosts a fundraising event to raise money to support our Student Leadership Award and to also raise awareness of our CPLC activities throughout the community and our work with Toronto Police Service – 22 Division in keeping our community safe.

  • Hosted by our CPLC, the Toronto Police Service -22 Division staff and their Neighbourhood Community Officers this is our largest annual outreach initiative. It hosts families from all 22 Division communities for a fun filled day of kids’ interactive activities, good eats and interaction with various units from Toronto Police Service which in the past has included ETF, Horse, Bike, Motorcycle and other Toronto First Responders.

  • Hosted by our CPLC, this annual public event brings the Toronto Police Service – 22 Division and its community members together, creating a forum to inform, educate, and address key issues of safety concerns within the community.
