Happy Losar!

On Saturday February 9, 2019, the Toronto Tibetan community celebrated “Losar” the lunar New Year at the Tibetan Canadian Cultural Centre in Etobicoke. The Tibetan New Year is a festival in Tibetan Buddhism and celebrated by Tibetan, Tibetan Buddhist, and Bhutanese around the world.

The City of Toronto is home to over 12,000 Tibetans, mostly concentrated in the Parkdale/High Park and Etobicoke areas. The 22 Division Unit Commander, Inspector Riyaz Hussein, was one of the chief guests and shared the stage with the Federal and Provincial legislators, City Councillors to ring in the year of the Earth Pig.
