The Mobile Crisis Intervention Team (MCIT) is a collaborative partnership between the Toronto Police Service and participating Toronto Hospitals. Nurse Debbie Andersen and PC Ingrid Singer are specially trained to respond to situations involving individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. The MCIT’s goal is to assist those experiencing a mental health crisis by stabilizing and defusing the situation, making critical assessments of the individuals’ needs on-site and offering support counselling as needed. Their collaborative partnership and specialty training is a huge asset to the 22 Division Toronto Police Service in order to keep the community safe!
