16th Annual 22 Division Toronto Police Service Rover Crew Investiture Ceremony at the Toronto Police College
The Rover Program has a long and proud history with the Toronto Police Service and truly epitomizes one of the most important facets of modern policing. The need for establishing Partnerships, with the community in the furtherance of Community Safety. This program and the 16+ year relationship between Scouts Canada, Humber College and the Toronto Police Service is a vivid example of that conceptual goal in action.
The Rovers over the past 16 years have served all across the TPS and even in adjacent jurisdictions. Many divisions across our organization have benefited from their tireless and dedicated service. Last year alone, the Rovers contributed 2,089 hours of Community Service alone in various events across D22 and the TPS! Today we witnessed 43 new Rovers join the ranks of the existing 44 cadre, thank you to Scouts Canada and Humber College again for supporting the program and providing pathways for students with a desire to volunteer, to give back to the community
